At the height of the COVID pandemic, when faced with the planet’s longest lockdown, we wanted to show gratitude to the wonderful clients who were keeping us inspired, creative and productive.
We all missed the everyday things we did pre-pandemic – the connections, culture and experiences. So, our team decided to create a fun, useful gift that delivered a message of hope to our clients.
We settled on the idea of a twelve-month calendar because it resonated with our own brand name. Twelve Creative specialises in the design of annual reports with critical dates and deadlines, so we thought a calendar would be a handy reference for our clients.
The calendar was composed of 12 simple pages, each displaying a month of the year. Our team of six designers then set about creating their own playful sticker sheet illustrating things to do when not in COVID lockdown.
We had some great chats on Zoom, laughing about the small things we took for granted, and the things we missed most. For one designer, it was getting her nails done, another was looking forward to camping and someone else just wanted to whistle while they walked – which can be tricky in a face mask!
The idea was that our clients would fill the calendar pages with stickers illustrating activities they wanted to get back to when restrictions were eased. If that wasn’t inspiration enough, the reverse of the calendar pages listed events scheduled throughout the year across Melbourne, Victoria and Australia.
The calendar was delivered in an eye-catching, self-closing envelope (complete with custom stand and QR code accessible playlist) designed to be posted in the mail – by contactless delivery, of course!
